TORRINGTON, WYOMING...........Memorial services for BERNARD L. “BERNIE” RIDENOUR 73 will be at 11am Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Reverend Marvin Temme officiating. Cremation has taken place. Bernie was called home by his Holy Father on June 21, 2009 (Father’s Day) with his loving family at his side. The family requests that memorials to honor Bernie go to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington or the donor’s choice. Bernie was born July 6, 1935 in Mullen, Nebraska to Homer Raymond Ridenour and Eva Ella Mae Marsh. He graduated from Mullen High School. After high school he joined the Marines and made rank of Sergeant. He stayed in the military for two years. He married Shirley Teut on April 27, 1963 in Omaha, Nebraska. After the military he went to refrigeration school in Omaha. He had numerous jobs during his life. He was a beef lugger for Swift Packing Co. in Omaha, a car salesman for numerous dealerships in Nebraska, a brakeman for the Rock Island Railroad in Fairbury, Nebraska and a brakeman/conductor for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Alliance, Nebraska and Gillette, Wyoming. He retired from the railroad in 2000. Bernie had many interests and hobbies that always seemed to keep him busy. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his son and grandson. You would often find him working in his yard or attending a grandchild’s or a local sporting event. He loved to read and volunteer at church and the American Legion. He was on the Board of Properties at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Bernie is survived by his wife Shirley of Torrington, Wyoming; daughter Kristi Larson and husband Brad of Lincoln, Nebraska; son Rick Ridenour and wife Audrey of Alliance, Nebraska; brothers, Clifford of Denver, Colorado, Leonard of Mullen, Nebraska, Raymond of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters, Marjorie of Lake Isabella, California, Deloris of Tucson, Arizona, Mildred of Omaha, Nebraska, Barbara of Mesa, Arizona, and Donna of Purdum, Nebraska; grandchildren, Jessica, Madison, Brianna, Trevor, and Camryn.
