Cynthia Lea Hudelson

Cynthia Lea (Cruse) Hudelson of Torrington, Wyoming passed away in her home in the early morning hours after a brief illness on March 3, 2022, with her family at her side. She was 74 years old. Cynthia welcomed Prairie Haven Hospice into her home to help live out her remaining days in comfort and happiness. Per her wishes, Cynthia will be cremated and no services will be held. Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington, Wyoming assisted the family with arrangements. Any memorials can be sent to the Eastern Wyoming College Foundation Scholarship Fund in her honor. Cynthia was born in Torrington, Wyoming to Gordon and Dorothy (Elder) Cruse on December 21, 1947. She was raised in Guernsey, Wyoming and moved to Torrington, Wyoming to begin her eighth grade of school. Her freshman year of school at Torrington High she literally was knocked off her feet by her beloved James Hudelson, also of Torrington, Wyoming. In Willie Gymnasium, James threw a basketball and hit Cynthia in the face. It was love at first sight. She said, “I’m going to marry that man.” The two were married on June 2, 1966, and from this union arose three children, Sean, Gordon, and Mariah. Cynthia attended Cosmetology school in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and upon completion of her certification she later opened her own salon in their family home. After raising their children, Cynthia later was employed at Eastern Wyoming College as a cashier and records clerk. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Dorothy (Elder) Cruse; husband, James Hudelson; son, Gordon Hudelson; brothers-in-law, Lee (Donna) Dye and Robert (Barbara) Hudelson; in-laws, Hugh, and Helen (Wilson) Hudelson. She is survived by her children, Sean (Kim) Hudelson of Englewood, Colorado and Mariah (Clayton) Johns of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; grandchildren, Colton Johns and fiancé, Elizabeth Bayliss and Dawson Johns of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Nathan and Quinn Hudelson of Englewood, Colorado; a sister, Sharon (Paul) Houk of Pensacola, Florida and brother Don Cruse of Wellton, Arizona; brothers-in-law, Ralph (Jeanne) Hudelson of Ridgefield, Washington, David (Fran) Hudelson of Horse Shoe, North Caorolina; sisters-in-law, Donna Dye of Muncie, Indiana, Barbara Hudelson of Hauppauge, New York, Nancy Hudelson of Salida, Colorado; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a very special aunt, Mabel Perryman of Phoenix, Arizona and two very special friends, Margy Karpf of Omaha, Nebraska and Jane Rock of Woodmoor, Colorado. Cynthia, aka “Bubbe” loved her family up until her very last breath. She was an artist in all forms. She could see the beauty in every little thing and looked forward to her daily Scrabble games. She could be remembered by her sparkle in every rainbow; every time a Neil Diamond song is heard and every beautiful sunrise over the valley of her home, Torrington.
