TORRINGTON, WY..... Funeral services for DOUGLAS DUMONT HAINES, 66, will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the Frontier School of the Bible at LaGrange, Wyoming with Rev. Dr. Robert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the LaGrange Cemetery. Doug died on September 13, 2006 at the VA Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Visitation hours will be held on Friday, September 15 from 3pm to 7pm at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel. The casket will be open briefly at the service. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions to the Western History Center, Expanding Horizons Archeology for Kids at Ft. Laramie, Wyoming. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends are invited to send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com He was born on April 14, 1940 in Torrington, Wyoming the son of Dudley and Antonie (Zavorka) Haines. He grew up and received his education in Torrington. He went on to serve in the US Army with the 101 Airborn Division. Following his discharge, Doug returned to Torrington and went to work at the Holly Sugar Corporation for 33 yeas where he eventually became the sugar end foreman. After retirement, he enjoyed working at the Western History Museum west of Lingle, Wyoming. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and camping; and he had a great interest in arrowheads and archeology. He is survived by his wife, Essie whom he married in July of 1999; his mother Antonie Zavorka Donbraska of Torrington, Wyoming; two sons, Douglas M. Haines of Baltimore, Maryland, and Dudley M. Haines of Safford, Arizona; step-sons Chad Brill of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Jereme Roark and his wife Shelley of Newcastle, Wyoming; step-daughters, Robin Schnell of Winona, Missouri, Wendy Dolberg of Morrill, Nebraska, and Rachael Cowen of Hanna, Wyoming; two brothers, David Haines and his wife Carmen of Greeley, Colorado, and Dudley Haines and his wife Terry of Torrington, Wyoming; five sisters, Betty Anne Absher and her husband Jim of Torrington, Wyoming, Marie Frazier and her husband Roy of Durand, Illinois, Patricia Adams and her husband Bob of Torrington, Wyoming, Beverly Shonts and her husband Harvey of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Debbie Eustis of San Francisco, California; one grandchild and nine step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
