GUERNSEY, WY . . . . . Memorial services for FRANKLIN E. MOORE, 73, will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the Faith Baptist Church in Guernsey with Pastor Randy Simmons officiating. Franklin died on November 30, 2007 at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Cremation has taken place. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions to the family to help with funeral costs. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends are invited to send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Franklin was born on December 5, 1933 in Guernsey, Wyoming the son of Earl and Beulah (Stevens) Moore. He grew up and attended school at Guernsey; graduating Guernsey-Sunrise High School in 1951. He then worked for a short time with the Rail Road before enlisting in the US Army. He served in the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, Franklin returned to the Guernsey area where he worked the iron ore mines at Sunrise. He married Juanita M. Lay on July 5, 1957 in Gering, Nebraska and the couple lived in Sunrise and Torrington for a short time. They divorced in 1961. Franklin moved back to Guernsey where he continued to work at the mines. He married Peggy Huston on July 28, 1972 in Wheatland, Wyoming and the couple lived at Guernsey. Franklin continued to work at the mines until he retired in the late 1970's. Franklin enjoyed fishing and hunting. He liked wood working projects and he loved to dance. Franklin found great pleasure in socializing and he enjoyed coffee and chat with his Rail Road buddies. He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Guernsey; one son Ricky Moore and his wife Kim of Windsor, Colorado; four daughters, Sharon Dunlap and her husband Melvin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Kathleen Carroll and her husband Kirk of San Antonio, Texas; Sue Garvie and her husband Trae of Torrington, Wyoming; and Teri Foster and her husband Alvin also of Torrington; two sisters, Wanda Foote of Lusk, Wyoming, and Bonnie Allen and her husband Sam of Ft. Laramie, Wyoming; 13 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
