TORRINGTON, WYOMING...........Funeral services for JAMES “JIMMY” ARTHUR SCHEER 21, will be held at 10:30am Friday, June 26, 2009 at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church with Reverend Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Jimmy died June 20, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated. Visitation will be Thursday from 3pm to 7pm and briefly before the service at the church. Jimmy was born November 23, 1987 in Kimball, Nebraska the son of Jim and Cindy (Kvale) Scheer. The Scheer family traveled around Colorado, Nebraska, Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming with Western Geophysical Seismograph Company for several years before settling in Torrington, Wyoming in the fall of 1990. Jimmy became a big brother to Becky in 1989 and Megan in 1995. He enjoyed sports and was involved in soccer, baseball, basketball, track, football, and wrestling. He was also a Boy Scout and participated in the Big Brother/Big Sister Program where he met his “big brother” Shawn Wade. He earned all conference and honorable mention in football and all conference and all state in wrestling his senior year of high school. Jimmy was state runner-up in the 275 lb. weight class. For football he wore jersey #66 with pride and the coaches called him “Scheer Power” Jimmy was baptized at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington. He graduated in 2006 from Torrington High School and received a certificate for Construction Technology in 2008 for Eastern Wyoming College. He became a member of the Moose Lodge 664 in 2008. He was employed by Norment Security since June of 2008 and was involved in the construction of the prison outside of Torrington. He had also worked at Olson Tire Factory, Western Sugar Corporation, and Torrington Office Supply. Jimmy is survived by his mother Cindy Scheer, sisters Megan Scheer and Becky Scheer and her boyfriend Jack Goldrick all of Torrington; maternal grandparents Kenny and Marian Kvale of Crosby, North Dakota; maternal aunts and uncles, Judy and Chuck Davis and Josh and Kendra Kvale of Williston, North Dakota, Barb Kvale and Fransheska Plasencio of Nebraska, Bill and Deb White and Brad of Gilbert, Arizona; paternal aunts and uncles, Jerry and Linda Baker and family of Gillette, Wyoming, Abby Davis of Ft Collins, Colorado , her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Nadine and Derald Page of Torrington, and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Linda Nichol of Lingle, Wyoming and her children, and grandchildren. An extensive extended family from North Dakota that he enjoyed visiting especially Lance Engberg, Shaun Engberg, and Patrick Hendrickson; Jimmy was preceded in death by his dad, Jim Scheer; paternal grand parents, Art and Edna (Roos) Scheer; maternal grandmother, Pearl (Lund) Kvale; uncle, Doug Kvale; and special friend, Lane McCombs.
