TORRINGTON, WY.... Funeral services for JANNAE ESTELLE BERNARD MADDOX, 61, will be held at 2pm on Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lael Hibshman officiating. Visitation hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 3pm to 7pm and the casket will be open briefly at the service. Cremation will take place following the services and burial will be held at a later date. Jannae died on July 26, 2009 at the Denver Hospice Center in Denver, Colorado following a courageous nine month battle with Leukemia. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions to either the family for medical expenses or to the Leukemia Foundation. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends are invited to send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Jannae was born on May 31, 1948 in Lusk, Wyoming the daughter of Lewis Gene and Ruth (Younkin) Bass. She grew up and received her education; graduating from Torrington High School in 1966. She went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Wyoming at Laramie. Jannae then taught elementary education, mostly at Torrington, for the next 25 years. Following the death of her husband, Danny Bernard, in 1995, Jannae moved to the family ranch north of Guernsey, Wyoming where she loved working the ranch and keeping it going. She had an addition built to her house and made it a welcoming home for her family and friends. As Jannae stayed on to live and work at the ranch, she continued to build her relationship with God. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, doing crafts; and she had an un-believable love for animals. Jannae always continued to educate herself. She was a friend that anyone could come to, and she was an amazing mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Ty Johnson of Torrington, Wyoming; two daughters, Brandie (Rick) Cook of Lingle, Wyoming; and Tiffany Johnson of Idaho Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren, Shaylee Cook, Kaylynn Cook, Cameron Cook, Kasandra Aguallo all of Lingle; and Blake Johnson of Torrington; and her ex-husband and friend, Fred Maddox. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Danny Bernard, her former husband, Tom Johnson; and her brother, Gene Bass, Jr.
