On May 24, 2026, JASON LEE MOORE, 49, passed away peacefully at home with his mother by his side after a hard and courageous battle with congestive heart disease. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place at 1PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Lone Tree Canyon at 2375 Lone Tree Canyon Road, Hawk Springs, Wyoming. Please bring a lawn chair. Jason was born on August 19, 1976, in Torrington, Wyoming to Barbara (Dowers) and Glen Moore. His natural father passed away when he was young. Barbara then married Scott Elder and together they raised him. He grew up in Torrington and attended public schools later earning his GED. Jason was Intelligent and could answer most questions asked of him without a “Google Search”. He was well-rounded in his broad spectrum of knowledge. He worked a variety of positions in the road construction industry including- traffic controller, flagger, small equipment operator and manual laborer. Jason was passionate about his music, and he was a very talented musician. He sang vocals and was immaculate with a guitar pick. He devoted countless hours to playing his guitar. He relished the outdoors, especially camping in the mountains. He had a kindness for animals, particularly cats and kittens. He spent hours playing with them and spoiling them along the way. Jason was an avid reader and had a massive collection of Stephen King novels. He also enjoyed hours of entertainment playing video games. From a young age he was intrigued by the mysteries of the universe. He took great pleasure in learning about the planets, galaxies and black holes. Jason will be remembered for his kindheartedness and deep generosity. He recognized others with needs and did his best to help them. He will be deeply missed by those who truly loved and knew him. Jason is survived by his mother Barbara Ann Elder; sister Amanda McAlister and her children, Brayden and Brittany Ratliff, Bryce and Rubie Ratliff, and Karah (James) Ratliff; sister Brenda (Danny) Hoover and their children ChanToniea (Ezekiel) Hoover, Annicka and Dayja Vu, Emily Hoover, and Akayla Hoover; grandfather Hugh Dowers; aunts Gwen Dowers, Dixie (Mark) Elder, and Peggy Dowers; cousins Amanda Dowers, Devin Daugherty, Skyler Elder, Kolter Elder and Hunter (Joey) Staniforth; grandmother Shirley Moore; uncles Keith Moore and Tim Moore; aunt Melody Moore; and numerous other cousins, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his natural father Glen Moore; his father Scott Elder; grandfather Kenny Moore; aunts and uncles Brian Moore, Sharon Moore and Amber Moore; grandmother Margret “Billie” Elder; grandfather Irv “Grandpa Me” Elder; uncle Mike Elder; and grandmother Rosie “Nanny” Dowers.
