Jeannine Miller

Memorial services for JEANNINE D. MILLER, 86, will be held at 10am Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the United Methodist Church with Reverend Brian Kroeger officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. The family will host a catered reception at the Holiday Inn Express immediately after the burial. Jeannine died November 15, 2015 at Goshen Healthcare Community Center and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the Goshen County Senior Friendship Center or the Torrington Ambulance Service. Jeannine was born September 1, 1929 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska the daughter of John Edward DesEnfants and Olive Annabell Reed. She lived her whole life in Torrington, graduating from Torrington High School in 1947 and marrying Al Miller on June 11, 1948. They owned and operated a family farm and fed cattle east of town. Jeannine led a very active social life and touched the lives of many people in Torrington. She was a legal secretary for seven years and observed Stan Hathaway begin his career as a young lawyer in Torrington. She served as the secretary of the New North Platte Irrigation and Ditch Company for over eighteen years. She chaired the Mayor’s Planning Board for ten years and was active in PEO and the Methodist Church. Jeannine sold Luzier cosmetics for over forty-five years and was the breakfast bar hostess for the Holiday Inn Express when it opened. She was an accomplished bookkeeper, seamstress, bridge player and ballroom dancer with her husband. Jeannine is survived by her two sons Steve Miller and wife Liz of Denver, Colorado and Bruce Miller and wife Andrea of Scottsdale, Arizona; her daughter Joyce Miller of Ft. Collins, Colorado; her sister Joan Harris of Torrington, Wyoming; her brother Jack DesEnfants of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Al Miller; her sister Irene Knight; and her two parents. Jeannine was a wonderful mother- grandmother and will be dearly missed.
