Graveside services for JIMMIE EUGENE FARMER, 92, will be held 11am Wednesday May 27, 2026, at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle with Juile Newman officiating. Jimmie passed away peacefully May 18, 2026, at Goshen Care Center and cremation has taken place. It is requested that attendees bring a chair if needed. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to Gracie's Promise in Jimmie's name. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerufuneralhome.com Jimmie was born March 17, 1934, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Elston and Emma (Schriner) Farmer. As a young man he and his family moved around as they followed their dad’s work. They made home in the La Junta area in southeastern Colorado for a short while until they moved to Englewood, Colorado where Jimmie finished out his high school education, graduating with the class of 1954. After graduation he worked a short time for Paul C. Jameson Hatchery in Englewood, and it was there he met the young girl that would become the love of his life. Jimmie married Shirley Ann Watson September 22, 1956, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. To this union four children were born; Richard, Gwendolyn, Tracy and J.D. While being a devoted father to his children he spent most of his life working and running BJ Hower Plumbing in Denver. After 40 years Jimmie earned his much-deserved retirement in 1992, and it was then he made the move to Lingle, Wyoming. This is where he made his final home and the place he and Shirley shared the remainder of their years together. Jimmie loved fishing, watersports, and arrowhead hunting. Jimmie was a very well-known man and liked by many, especially his coffee group in Lingle whom he shared many memories with. But above all, Jimmie was a family man. He loved spending time with his family, especially when they went on camping trips to the mountains and the lake. Jimmie left an everlasting impression on all those he met and will be missed dearly by all. Jimmie is survived by his children; Richard (Charlotte) Farmer, Gwen (Bernie) Roma, Tracy Farmer and J.D (Marsha) Farmer, grandchildren Walt Farmer, Jason (Jennifer) Habinck, Trinity (Chris) Page, Chelsie Farmer, Zach (Christa) Farmer and Hayden (Zoe) Farmer, great-grandchildren Jared and Jaden Habinck, Taylor Page, Colton Farmer, Emersyn Farmer and Nolan Farmer, brothers in law Raymond (Della) Watson and Bill (Betty) Watson, and many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley, parents, three brothers, one sister, grandson Josh Farmer, brother-in-law Bud (Virginia) Watson, mother and father-in-law Walt and Agnes Watson.
