Funeral services for JOYCE ANDERSON, 92, will be held 10am Friday May 15, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Brett Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. The casket will be closed. Joyce passed away peacefully May 6, 2026, at Torrington Community Hospital. Memorials can be made to the Church in Joyce’s name. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com Joyce was born August 19, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Melvin and Helen (Petersen) Mills. She grew up as a young girl in Salt Lake alongside her younger sister Gloria. When Joyce was a teenager, the family moved to Torrington where she made her forever home. She finished out her education and graduated from Torrington High School. Joyce met the love of her life, Bob Anderson and the two were married September 23, 1950, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Shortly after they were married, they started their family and to this union three children were born; Terry, Mike and Brenda. While being a devoted mother and raising her family, she worked several jobs before she and Bob started Anderson Carpet in Lingle in 1978. After Bob’s passing in 1987 Joyce ran the carpet store alongside her son Mike and his wife Dee. She retired in 2004. Some of Joyce’s hobbies included playing cards with her friends, gambling, going to the lake and traveling. But the one thing Joyce got the most joy out of was when she was with her family. All the love and laughter they shared was the one true thing that carried her through to the very end. Joyce really loved to host holiday dinners, and her family remembers the amazing Christmas's they would have at Joyce’s house. She would have done anything for her family, and they always knew they could count on her to be there for them. She was a very proud grandma to 19 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly and couldn’t have been prouder of. Joyce leaves behind the great legacy of what it truly means to be a family, and she will be missed very much by all those that knew her. She is survived by her two sons Mike (Dee) Anderson and Terry Anderson; grandchildren Melanie (Aaron) Wolfe, Alicia (Jason) Chamberlin, Mandie Rousseau, Stephanie (Brandon) Fisher, Scott (Grayson) Haeffelin, Meshia (Jon) Oliver, Bobby (Katie) Anderson and Chris (Dena) Anderson; 19 great-grandchildren, son in-law Larry Haeffelin, daughter in-law Becky Curless, grandson in-law Eric Houk, several nieces, nephews and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Anderson, parents Melvin and Helen Mills, daughter Brenda Haeffelin, granddaughter Stacey Houk, sister Gloria (Larry) Cecil and a brother-in-law Arden “Toots” (Virginia) Anderson.
