Funeral services for our beloved KATHERINE E. LACKMAN, 56, will be at 10am, Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Marvin Temme officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Kathy passed away peacefully in her home June 20, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. She is now resting in the arms of Our Father in Heaven. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm and prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Prairie Haven Hospice, or Rocky Mountain Cancer Treatment Center. Kathy was born May 9, 1954 in Torrington, Wyoming to Dale and Dorothy (Ault) Schauerman. She received her education in Torrington. She married her high school sweetheart, Rick Lackman on March 11, 1973. They resided on the family farm outside of Huntley, Wyoming. To this Union they were blessed with three daughters, Becky, Shannon, and Stacie. While Rick kept busy with farming Kathy devoted every moment to her family. In her “spare” time she loved to decorate cakes for people in the community, help with 4-H, and was very active in the local church. In 1996 Kathy became employed by Wyoming Child and Family, her first job outside of the home. She was employed there as an early childhood educator until the time she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in April of 2008. During her time of employment and even during her illness she went back to college. She received her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences in May of 2010. She graduated with honors. Kathy had a great deal of love for many things in her life. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, working in her flower beds, and most recently Farmville on Facebook. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington and her faith in God is what was most important to her and got her through all her trials throughout her life and especially during her illness. Her greatest love of all was the love for her family. She always made sure that each one of them felt special and loved. She got the biggest joy when she spoiled her grandchildren. She will always and forever be in our hearts and greatly missed by all who knew her. Katherine is survived by her loving husband of 37 years Rick; three daughters, Rebecca and husband Dean Prall of Torrington, Shannon and husband Miles Miller of Douglas, WY, and Stacie and husband Tylen Werkele of Douglas; eight very special grandchildren, Zach, Mackenzie, Ty, Mason, Chelsea, Dillan, Brayden, and Kaden; mother Dorothy Schauerman of Torrington; brother Don (Diane Draper) Schauerman of Lone Tree, CO; sisters Diane (Dean) Clyncke of Johnstown, CO, and Maryann Schauerman of Torrington. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; her father; and an infant brother. We love you always, Grandma!
