Larry Dale Lippincott

A celebration of life for LARRY DALE LIPPINCOTT, 82, will be held 1pm Friday February 16, 2024, at the Goshen County Rendezvous Center with Reverend Dr. Bob Smith officiating. Larry Lippincott, 82, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024, at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado. He was born on January 27, 1942, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Harold “Red” and Marie Sommer Lippincott. Larry was a 1960 graduate of Huntley High School. He resided in Huntley, Wyoming on his family farm. He dedicated his life to working as a farmer. He raised crops, sheep, and fed cattle. Larry loved driving his gator around to check on how things were going around the farm and feedlot. Larry was an avid supporter of the 4-H and FFA programs in Goshen County. He did not miss a county or state fair for most years of his life. At the Goshen County Fair, he coordinated the Goshen County Sheep Producers Lamb Barbecue for many decades. One of Larry’s favorite roles was being a grandparent. He treasured any time spent with his grandkids. He was always present to support them, whether they were showing livestock or playing sports for the Southeast Cyclones. He could be seen at volleyball, football, and basketball games, which led to him receiving the Cyclone Fan of the Year. Larry never shied away from telling those around him how proud he was of his grandkids. Larry had three beloved dogs that accompanied him on all of his adventures. They were always spoiled with burnt pancakes for breakfast and chicken strips for lunch and dinner. Larry was never a stranger to anyone. Once he met you, he would always be your friend and willing to share a variety of stories. He enjoyed his days golfing in Morrill with his good friend George; they could also be found harassing the refs on the sidelines of games. In addition, he liked to go to the feedlot office to watch video cattle sales with Bill and Linda. Larry will always be remembered for his infectious smile, his ornery attitude, and his love for the people that were in his life. We couldn’t have asked for a better brother, father, and grandpa, and we will miss Larry every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold, his mother, Marie, and his brother, Marvin. Larry is survived by his sisters Rosemary DeLosh and Karen Gegner, and his children Robin (Steve) Schainost, Jackie Lippincott, Jim (Alana) Lippincott, and Marge (Jeff) Chapman. His grandchildren include Dani (Kevin) Austin, Shelby Schainost, Aimee (Ryan) Shepperson, Zach Mehrens, Angie (Travis) Boam, JL (Shaylee) Lippincott, Tristan Lippincott, Taylor (Efery Kutsev) Lippincott, Nelson (Yasmen) Lewis, Brody Leonhardt, Chloe Leonhardt, Noelle Chapman, and Jacob Chapman. Larry’s great grand-children include Ellie Shepperson, JJ Shepperson, Brenna Boam, Bridger Boam, Raynell Mehrens, Maelyn Mehrens, O’Malley Mehrens, Kent Mehrens, Paisley Mehrens, Remie Lippincott, Lynley Lewis, and Luella Lewis. He is also survived by his nieces, Tamie Blackburn-Thorson and Heidi Simon, and his nephew Sean Blackburn. Family, friends, and others are invited to the Goshen County Rendezvous Center on February 16th at 1:00 PM, to reminisce and celebrate the life of Larry.
