TORRINGTON, WYOMING.................Memorial services for LEROY GLENN LACKEY, 83, will be held at 10:30a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2006 at the United Methodist Church with Reverend Ora Dailey officiating. Cremation has taken place and burial of the cremains will take place following the service. LeRoy died at Community Hospital on Saturday, August 19, 2006. A memorial has been established to St. Joseph's Children's Home. LeRoy was born March 31, 1923 in Bayard, Nebraska the son of Floyd and Elva (Imus) Lackey. He grew up in the Minatare, Nebraska area and received his early education there. He married Margie Butler in Kimball, Nebraska on August 29, 1942 and they farmed in the Lake Minatare area until 1954 when they moved to the Torrington area where they continued to farm until 1979 when he retired from farming. LeRoy then drove the delivery truck for Hacker Oil until 1991 when he fully retired. LeRoy enjoyed camping, Square Dancing, fishing, and boating, and was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Red Dale Camping Club. LeRoy is survived by a son Terry Lackey of Casper, Wyoming; two daughters, Crystal Rogers and her husband David of Chugwater, Wyoming and Pam Schwab and her husband Tim of Brush, Colorado; four sisters, Birdie Lopez of Minatare, Nebraska, Mary Holten of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Myrl Howie of Gering, Nebraska, and Inez Steele of Morrill, Nebraska; three brothers, Floyd 'Tom' Lackey of Gering, Jerry Lackey of Mitchell, Nebraska, and Ronald Lackey of Pierre, South Dakota; twelve grandchildren, Kevin Teske and his wife Robin, Djuana Heil and her husband Shawne, Jennifer Hobbs and her husband John, Michael Lackey, Terry Neider, Debbie Lackey, Dana Mundy, Matthew Schwab, Sarah Schwab, Don Rogers, Davey Rogers, and Will Rogers; eleven great grandchildren, Garrett Hobbs, Miranda Teske, Brandent Heil, BreEnna Heil, Summer Heil, Blake Rogers, Brendon Rogers, Kevin Lackey, Kimberly Mundy, Jacob Mundy, and Larry Mundy; and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Sylvia 'Kay' Teske; and two sisters, Leota and Judy.
