Max Bayless

LINGLE, WY.....Funeral services with Military Honors will be held for MAX EUGENE BAYLESS, 82, on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am at the Lingle Presbyterian Church with Reverend Curtis Hill officiating. Internment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle, WY. Viewing hours are on Thursday from 3-7pm at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel. Max died on April 18, 2009 at Special Touch at Community Hospital in Torrington, WY. Memorial contributions can be made to Prairie Haven Hospice or Special Touch. He was born to Homer and Winnie(McCarthy) Bayless on March 9,1927 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The family moved to Veteran, WY. Where he graduated high school in 1945. Max entered the Army Infantry at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey on February 6, 1946. His enlistment took him to Germany, and from there Swinefort, Heidelberg, and Esslingen. He received Sharp Shooter Honors before discharging from the Army in 1947. He came home and started farming with his parents where he also met and married Ruth Hudson in 1947. They later divorced in 1949. He then married Eva June Kirlin in 1952. Max retired from farming in 1976. Eva then passed away in 1993. Max met and married Adeline Wise in 1995 where she also passed away in 1997. Then Max met Mildred Racki and the two were married on April 3, 2001 in Colorado Springs, CO. The couple continued to live in Lingle before his passing. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, flowers, stockcar races, and his family. He also played the organ by ear. Max was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Veteran, American Legion post 57, Scout master for Troop 28 for five years and Order of the Golden Arrow. He is survived by his wife “Millie” from Lingle, WY, three daughters, Constance (Jim) Hirshmugl of Navato, CA, Lois (Dave) Armstrong of Eaton, CO, and Dorothy Judd of Torrington, WY, five sons, Robert “Bronco” (Chris) Bayless of Gloucester, VA, Richard Bayless and April of torrington, WY, Dennis Bayless of Big Springs, TX, Terry Bayless and Betty of Torrington, WY, and Edgar(Kathy) Bayless of Caldwell, ID, step-daughter Susan Kuhn of Pueblo, CO, 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Maurice Dean Bayless, two spouses Adeline Wise and Eva Kirlin, one grandson, Randy Lachmiller and three granddaughters Katherine, Jamie, and Roberta.
