Opal Hubert

TORRINGTON, WYOMING...............Memorial services for OPAL J. HUBERT, 62, will be held at 11:00am Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Travis Petersen speaking. Cremation has taken place. Opal died at Community Hospital on May 25, 2008. Memorials to the family to be given to a cause to be decided upon later would be appreciated. Opal was born February 2, 1946 in Mullen, Nebraska the daughter of Art and Edna (LeLaCheur) Gorsuch. She was the youngest of nine children and graduated from Mullen High School. She went to Grand Island, Nebraska where she attended Beauty School and then started working for Lois' Beauty Shop in Ainsworth, Nebraska. While there she met Gary Hubert from Bassett, Nebraska. She moved to Mullen and there opened her own beauty shop and ran it for several years. She married Gary in Mullen on May 19, 1968. They moved to Bassett on Gary's folk's ranch in 1969. Their only son Todd was born in Sargent, Nebraska. In 1977 Gary and Opal bought a ranch near Twin Bridges, Montana. Opal worked in the Ruby Valley National Bank for eighteen years. They moved to Torrington, Wyoming in 1995 where they lived on their place twelve miles north until her death. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and a special friend to the Tex, Lisa, Austin, and Trevor Carter family. Opal fought diabetes for forty years, and had many years of medical problems because of it. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Opal loved playing cards with her family, telling jokes, family gatherings, and her sense of humor, smile, and giggle will be remembered forever. Opal leaves behind her husband Gary; her son Todd and his wife Gretchen; grandchildren Braden and Tessa; six brothers and sisters, Viola (Sis), Lois, Wayne, Dorothy, Lloyd, and Paul; and many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; a baby daughter; a brother Raymond; and a sister Francis.
