Patricia Susanne "Susie" Temple

A celebration of life for PATRICIA SUSANNE “SUSIE” TEMPLE, 77, will be held at 10:30 AM on March 21, 2026, at Colyer Funeral Home Chapel, 2395 Main St., Torrington, Wyoming. A private interment for both John and Susie will follow at Valley View Cemetery. The family invites you to a Reception at 12:30 PM at the Torrington VFW, 925 W 25th Ave. Susie left this mortal life December 7, 2025, under the care of Banner Community Hospital in Torrington Wyoming. She passed quietly in the loving presence of family. She was predeceased by husband and best friend John Gordon Temple, and his son Robert Cagle. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the AARP Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com Susie was born July 15, 1948, in South Bend, Indiana, to Lawrence and Mildred Allen (deceased). Eldest sister to Art and Sherry (deceased), she is survived by her brother George Allen, John Temple's children James Cagle, Miriam Bullman, and Veronica Buntaran, her former husband William A. Sills, and their two sons Jerry and Michael Sills. A loving Aunt to 5 nieces and nephews, Grandmother to 9 and Great Grandmother to 23, Susie will be remembered as a kind and generous neighborhood "Mom." After graduating Newark (CA) High School in 1966, she married Bill Sills on December 2, 1967, and raised their two sons as a homemaker. Divorced in 1987, Susie continued to raise the boys and worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Bay Area. She re-acquainted with former neighbor John Temple, they were married in 1994 and moved to Union City, CA. John and Susie enjoyed many years of excursions in their 5th-wheel trailer, even if it was just out to the driveway for a glass of wine and some music. Always quick to help others, she took in her nieces for several years, and her sons' friends when they were in need. She was a Scout leader, earning a District Award of Merit, and actively supported several charities and community organizations in both California and Wyoming. The family wishes to recognize and honor all her friends and acquaintances and extend our love to you all for your contributions to her exceptional life. In particular, we thank Ben and Michall Jones, as well as Kevin and Shawnda Derby, of Torrington for their loving assistance in John and Susie's later years. In her own words, Susie wanted to be remembered as a "cantankerous old broad."
