"Rey" Dolores Reynaldo Martinez, 82, of Torrington, WY, passed away on September 4, 2023. He was born on April 4, 1941, in Colombia, Mexico. He was a loving brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Rey is survived by his brother, Ediberto (Beto) Martinez, his three sons and their significant others, Reynaldo and Mandy Martinez, Ruben Martinez and Christine Richardson, Raul and Julie Martinez, and his four daughters and their significant others , Elizabeth and Mario Bull, Eilda and Richard Benjamin, Elsa Ross, Esther and Sean Smith. He was a cherished grandfather to Reynaldo Martinez Jr., Desire Kaye Dworak, Saxon Bull, Zane Bull, Anthony Martinez, Ashley Nichols, Alexander Martinez, Richard Martinez, Kaylee Sewald, Ryan Collar, Savannah Martinez, Dani C. Ross, Tomi R. Ross, Ferren E. Smith, Sean Smith, and 15 great-grandchildren, Ainsley Bull, Parker Bull, Alexis Martinez, Amelia Martinez, Arabella Martinez, Axton Martinez, Tyler Martinez, MaKenna G. Nichols, Seth Monje, Isaiah Sewald, Lucille Sewald, Thor Collar, Olivia D. Diaz, Peyton Oropeza, and Ezequiel Oropeza. He loved and touched the lives of each one of them. Rey was preceded in death by his wife, Estella Martinez, his father, Gregorio Martinez, his mother, Eudelia Martinez, his brothers, Gregorio Martinez Jr. and Santos Ramiro Martinez, and his sister, Marta Maria Martinez Perez. Their memories will forever be cherished. Throughout his life, Rey worked as a farm hand and a mechanic for Holly Sugar. He took pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. In his free time, Rey enjoyed various hobbies. He had a deep love for the outdoors and spent many hours fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed playing croquet, 31, and marbles. Rey found joy in simple pleasures and cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He loved to laugh and was always kidding around with everyone he met. Rey fought his battle against cancer the best he could. Despite his cancer, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his journey, he cracked jokes with his children. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed. Rey Dolores Martinez will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering love for his family, and his zest for life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Rey passed away due to cancer. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Rey managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his family as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his children, who he loved more than anything else in the world. Rey’s family extends an invitation for everyone to join them for a "Celebration of Life '' on Friday, September 22, 2023, 4 pm @ the American Legion in Torrington, WY to celebrate Rey's life.
