Ricardo "Ric" Abel Ramos

Ricardo Ramos TORRINGTON, WYOMING –A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Ricardo “Ric” Abel Ramos, 55, of Torrington. A Rosary/Wake service, with a Mass directly following, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at St. Rose Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Ray Moss officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home and at the Rosary. Cremation will follow services. Memorials may be made to the family. Ric was born December 15, 1957 in Torrington, Wyoming the son of Manuel and Dora (Baros) Ramos. He graduated from Lingle High School in 1976. Ric started playing drums at an early age and started to play in a band with his father at age 8. The band was called “Latin Lobos”. He also loved playing the harmonica, which he taught himself. He played “Train Train”, which was one of his favorites, along with many other songs. During high school, Ric won the Wyoming State Wrestling Championship title in 1973 and again in 1974. In 1974, he also held the LHS best record for wrestling and was a member of Wyoming All State Chorus. In 1976, he was LHS’s most Outstanding Band Member. Ric attended EWC in 1981 thru 1983 to pursue his welding certificate. He made the Dean’s list at EWC for 2 semesters. He worked at many companies, as a welder, in the local area. Ric enjoyed spending time with family having BBQ’s and being the cook. He also enjoyed listening to music and playing his harmonica every now and then at family functions. Ric enjoyed all sorts of sports. He would watch the Colorado Rockies with his mom regularly, as well as the Denver Broncos. He was also a fan of the Wyoming Cowboys. Besides sports, and listening to music, he enjoyed tying fly’s for fly fishing. Ric was no stranger to anyone and made friends everywhere he went. Ric is survived by his mother Dora Ramos of Torrington; sister Valerie Herrera of Craig, CO; brothers Patt and Mario Ramos of Torrington; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his father Manuel Ramos; brothers Dennis and Carlos Ramos; and sisters Regina and Tara Ramos.
