Robert O'Neill

-Robert “Bob” O’Neill, 91, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Regional West Hospital in Scottsbluff, Neb. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 15, at the United Methodist Church in Torrington with Reverend Ora Daly officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in the Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona. Memorials may be made to either the American Cancer Society (for Breast Cancer) or the Methodist Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send their condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Bob was born January 31, 1919 in Troy, Ohio the son of Luther G. O’Neill and Bertha (Marker) O’Neill. He grew up on a farm outside of Troy, OH where he finished high school. He then graduated from Ohio State University. After graduation, he taught History and P.E. and coached high school basketball. In 1950, Bob married Dorothy Haynes in Columbus, Ohio. The couple later moved to Phoenix, Arizona. After their move to Arizona, the couple began a passion for real estate. His wife Dorothy died in 1980 as a result of a car accident. Bob was remarried in 1990 to Loree Chace. The couple lived half of the year in Arizona and half of the year in Torrington and Medicine Bow, Wyo. Bob enjoyed being a Real Estate Broker for many years. The couple has lived the past six years in Torrington, Wyo. Bob enjoyed watching sports and looking for homes for sale. He also enjoyed golf. He was an Ohio State Alumni, a member of the United Methodist Church in Torrington, and a strong Republican. Survivors include his wife Loree of Torrington; a daughter, Sandy (Ralph) Hill of Surprise, AZ; a step-daughter, Cindy Chace and her companion Bobby of Medicine Bow, WY; a grand daughter, Deb (Jim) Scharmota of Canby, OR; a grandson, Jim Protzman of Aztec, NM; and a grand daughter, Dory Blansit of Glendale, AZ; many grand and great grandchildren; and a close nephew, Jerry (Judy) Markley of Troy, OH. Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Dorothy; and a grandson, Danny Protzman.
