Rose Wunder

TORRINGTON, WYOMING...........Funeral services for ROSE E. WUNDER 86, will be held at 1pm Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the First Congregational Church with Reverend Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle, Wyoming. Rose died December 25, 2009 at Community Hospital. Memorials are to the Special Touch Program at Community Hospital. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 3pm to 7pm and at the church prior to the service. Rose was born May 18, 1923 in Redbank, Pennsylvania the daughter of John and Hazel (Stahlman) Shindledecker. She grew up and received her education in various places between Redbank, and Torrington, Wyoming. She graduated from Torrington High School in 1941. During high school she lived with and worked for different families for room and board. She married Conrad Wunder on November 9, 1941 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They lived in Lingle, Wyoming where she farmed with her husband before moving to Worland, Wyoming in 1952 for three years. They returned to Lingle for a short time and then moved to Torrington. She worked for J.C. Penney for five years and raised her family. She also enjoyed raising different kinds of farm animals. Rose enjoyed crocheting, sewing, embroidery, and gardening, mainly growing flowers. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and enjoyed having lunch once a month with several ladies who had worked at J.C. Penney. Rose is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Dwight) Reed of Torrington, Wyoming, Shirley (James) Deemer of Amarillo, Texas, and Nancy (Michael) Wingert of Loveland, Colorado; two sons Donald Wunder Sr. and John Wunder both of Torrington; a brother Wendell Shindledecker of Commerce City, Colorado; ten grandchildren, Don Wunder Jr., Gene Butts, Rick Dean, Melody Boalch, James Robert Deemer, Edward Carl Deemer, Becki Wooton, Jennifer Ellsperman, Eric Wingert, and Katrina Kloberdanz; four step grandchildren, Vickie Bohnenkamp, Jackie Prickett, Brian Prickett, and Bradley Prickett; and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother; and five sisters.
