TORRINGTON, WYOMING.......A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for ROSENDO 'ROSS' BARAJAS, 76, at 10:00a.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Saint Rose Catholic Church with The Reverend Father Kevin officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Ross died February 8, 2007 at United Medical Center in Cheyenne,Wyoming. A Rosary/Wake service will be on Monday at 6:00p.m. at the church. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00p.m. till 5:00p.m., on Monday from 10:00a.m. till 5:00p.m. and the casket will be open at the Rosary/Wake. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Ross was born March 1, 1930 in Lingle, Wyoming the son of Raymond and Juana (Santiago) Barajas. He grew up and received his early education in Torrington. He joined the Wyoming Army National Guard when he was eighteen. He married Olivia Hernandez on November 24, 1951 in Mitchell, Nebraska. Ross worked forty two years as a painter at Camp Guernsey where he was also a sharpshooter with the 960th Unit Pistol team and traveled to many competitions. Ross loved drawing and painting, gardening, yard work, running and especially helping others. He was a member of the South Torrington Water Board. Ross is survived by one son, Dave Barajas and his wife Tamie; seven daughters, Katherine Kath and her husband Greg of Torrington, Laura Patterson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rose Stevens of Toledo, Ohio, Cecilia Elizondo and her husband Ricardo of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Elizabeth Moore of Torrington, Rebecca Ramirez and her husband Robert of Torrington, and Rachel Sandusky and her husband Scott of Torrington; four brothers, Hyino Barajas and his wife Lucy of Commerce City, Colorado, Joe Barajas and his wife Susie of Yakima, Washington, Raymond Barajas and his wife Isabel of Westminster, Colorado, and Johnny Barajas of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Ramona Lira of Lingle, Wyoming, and Virginia Munoz and her husband Fernando of Torrington; twenty-two grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son-in-law Ron Stevens.
