TORRINGTON, WYOMING...........Funeral services for ROSIE SCHMICK, 93, will be held at 10am Monday, September 8, 2008 at the First Congregational Church with Pastor Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Rosie died at the Mitchell Care Center in Mitchell, Nebraska on September 3, 2008. Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be Sunday from 3pm to 7pm at the Colyer Funeral Home and the casket will be open at the church prior to the service. Rosie was born November 6, 1914 in Laurel, Montana the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Frank) Frank. Her family moved from Montana to Minatare, Nebraska, then to Hawk Springs, Wyoming, and then to Mitchell, Nebraska. She married Henry Schmick Jr. on February 11, 1934 in Torrington, Wyoming. They lived in this area all their lives. Rosie was a charter member of the First Congregational Church where she was also a charter member of the Friendly Societies. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, sewing, quilting, gardening, canning, making bread, traveling, Bible studies, and raised chickens. Rosie is survived by three sons, Henry Schmick and his wife Pam of Sheridan, Wyoming, Edward Schmick and his wife Bonnie of Torrington, Wyoming, and Kenneth Schmick and his wife Judy of Carson City, Nevada; three daughters, Ginny Miller of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Ruth Long and her husband Barry of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Susannah Martinez and her husband Jack of Whiting, Maine; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; ten brothers Herman, Henry, Alex, William, George, Alex, a set of infant twin brothers Eddie and George and a set of unnamed infant twin brothers; and a grandson Mark.
