Funeral Mass of Christian burial for SANDRA J. WELLS, 78, will be celebrated at 11am Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Saint Rose Catholic Church with Father Dan Kostelc officiating. Sandra went to be with her Lord on November 10, 2021 at Goshen Healthcare Community. Memorials may be given to the local backpack program. A Rosary will be recited at the church preceding the mass at 10:30am. A private family burial will occur at a later date. Sandy was born July 8, 1943 in Torrington, Wyoming to Lawrence and Margaret Mitchell. She was the third of six children and had the distinction of being the only daughter. She received her education in Torrington and after graduation enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After serving her country she was honorably discharged. She married Eddie E. Wells on April 1, 1964 and the couple was blessed with four children, Matthew, Mary, Paul and Becky. After twenty-six years marriage the couple divorced. Sandy worked for the Goshen County School District for thirty plus years as a secretary at the Torrington Middle School until her retirement in 2008. Sandy was a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lime Catholic Church. Family was very important to her and she enjoyed family reunions immensely. She also enjoyed reading, taking walks, playing bingo, slot machines and meeting weekly with her coffee ladies. Sandy is survived by her four children, Matthew (Tammy) Wells of Torrington, Mary (Tim) McCain of Lakewood, Colorado, Paul (Stacie) Wells of Littleton, Colorado and Becky (Robert) Kabore of Wheatridge, Colorado; grandchildren Brionna (Nick) Johnson of Cypress, Texas, Stacia (Jeremy) Harker of Torrington, and Jacob Sanchez of Torrington; great grandchildren Brooke Harker, Hadlee Harker, Rease Johnson; a brother Mike (Vicki) Mitchell of Sidney, Nebraska; cousin and friend Barb (Randy) Adams of Torrington; and numerous nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Margaret Mitchell; brothers Larry Mitchell, Ed Mitchell, Jack Mitchell and Pat Mitchell. Sandy was the best Mom, the greatest grandma and great grandma, and will be missed dearly.
