Alma Louise Tompsett Torrington, Wyoming---Alma Louise Tompsett, 86, died June 6, 2010 at her home in Torrington, Wyoming. Cremation has taken place. Memorial funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Mathis officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Special Touch Program at Torrington Community Hospital. Alma was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Culbertson, Neb. the daughter of Rex and Eola (Page) Leberman. She grew up in the Scottsbluff-Gering area and graduated from Gering High School. She then started her career in Nursing. Alma joined the Army Nurses Corps during WW II and soon after, came to be a Nurse in Gering, Neb. She married Ralph Tompsett on Sept. 20, 1953 and the couple resided in Scottsbluff County. After having children, the family bought a ranch and moved to Jay Em, Wyo. Ralph and Alma’s careers took them to Cheyenne, Wyo. and then Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1977, the couple moved to Torrington to live out the rest of their years together. Alma was an avid bowler, she was very talented at knitting and crocheting, and her and her husband loved to hunt and fish. Alma also enjoyed going flying with her husband on nice days. Survivors include her husband Ralph of Torrington; daughter, Mary Roes of Hemingford, Neb; son, Clark Tompsett of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and sister, Beth Rains of Broken Bow, Neb. Alma is preceded in death by her parents and son Richard Page Tompsett.
