Beverly Yates Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Memorial services for BEVERLY JEAN YATES, 81, will be held at 10am Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Curtis Hill officiating. Burial will take place at a later time. Beverly died February 14, 2012 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either the South Goshen Presbyterian Church or the Donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Beverly was born July 20, 1930 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska the daughter of John and Rose (Chalupa) Werger. They lived on a farm south of Stegal, Nebraska until 1941 when they moved to Hawk Springs, Wyoming where she graduated from Hawk Springs High School in 1947. On May 18, 1948 she married Burl Yates and they were married for sixty-two years before Burl died in 2010. They lived in Huntley, Wyoming and farmed from 1948 until 1984 when they moved to Lingle, Wyoming. In 2008 they moved into Torrington, Wyoming. Beverly enjoyed gardening, quilting, and visiting with neighbors and friends. She was a member of a Lingle Quilters Club and the South Goshen Presbyterian Church. Beverly is survived by a son Jim Yates of Torrington, Wyoming; two daughters Barbara Lebsack and her husband Gary of Newcastle, Wyoming and Carol Sue Wright and her husband John of Cheyenne, Wyoming; a brother Darrel Werger and his wife Carol of Torrington; a sister Lois Garrison of Weatherford, Oklahoma; three grandchildren Shain Wright, Craig Wright, and Nicole Lebsack; and two great grandchildren John and Andrea Wright. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Burl; a sister Shirley Lockman; a half sister Sylvia Wells; a half brother Virgil Werger; and two granddaughters Kelly and Michelle Lebsack.
