Bonnie Armstrong

March 2, 1924 - July 18, 2013

Funeral services for BONNIE ARMSTRONG, 89, will be held at 10am Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Kyle Clutter officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Bonnie died July 18, 2013 at Kindred Health Care in Cheyenne, Wyoming. A memorial has been established to the church or the donor’s choice. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm and the casket will be open briefly prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Bonnie was born March 2, 1924 in Parnell, Missouri the daughter of Charles "Quinn" and Esther (Miller) Carroll. Her family moved to Torrington, Wyoming in 1930 then to Ft. Laramie, Wyoming and then to Lingle, Wyoming. She attended school in Ft. Laramie and Lingle and graduated high school from Lingle in 1942. She married Lyle Wayne Armstrong on October 5, 1942 in Gering, Nebraska. She worked briefly as a clerk at the L.B. Murphy Dry Goods Store. Bonnie was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress and sewed many things for neighbors, friends, and others. Bonnie enjoyed canning dill pickles and gardening both vegetables and flowers. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Circle #1, a 4-H leader, Sunday school teacher, Cub Scout Den Mother, baseball team Mother, room Mother, and made uniforms for historical reenactments at Old Fort Laramie. Bonnie is survived by three daughters Jacqueline Peaster of Fredonia, Texas, Janet Pitman of Tacoma, Washington, and Sharon Harris and her husband Rod Jr of Loveland, Colorado; two sons Dale Armstrong and his wife Helen of Story, Wyoming and Bryon Armstrong of Cheyenne, Wyoming; a brother Sam Carroll of Torrington, Wyoming; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son Melvin; two sisters Shirley Lewis and Thelma Lammon; and a brother Harley Carroll.
