David D Brown

August 25, 1950 - January 27, 2016

Funeral services for DAVID D. BROWN, 65, will be held at 1pm Monday, February 1, 2016 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Cederholm officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. David died at his home on January 27, 2016. Memorials donations may be directed to either the First Baptist Church or Waggin’ Tails Animal Shelter. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 10am to noon and the casket will be open prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com. David was born August 25, 1950 in Torrington, Wyoming the son of Earl and Britta (Snider) Brown. He attended Torrington High School and furthered his education at Eastern Wyoming College. His life was filled with deep love for his family, his beloved dogs and cats. He was a caring and loving brother. David was always ready for an adventure. Fishing, camping, hunting and recording music were his hobbies. He enjoyed traveling to Texas and Arkansas, playing cards, riding horses and boxing. He played pool and won many trophies and excelled in track and bowling. He was proud to be a member of his brother-in-law John Rife’s drag racing crew. David took pride in his 1964 Chevy Pickup. His favorite past time was researching history of American presidents, wars and events. His favorite place was the Medicine Bow National Park in a beautiful meadow where he shot his first elk. This was the highlight of his life. David was a member and baptized at the First Baptist Church and a member of the Moose Lodge #664. Eliza "Chandler" Snider his grandmother, was a founding member of the First Baptist Church in Torrington when it was started in a train boxcar. His ancestors came from England, Scotland, Ireland and Germany. Throughout his life he worked at various jobs. In his younger years he ran the projectors at the West Drive-In and the Wyoming Theater. David had a talent for landscaping and horticulture and owned and operated his own landscaping business. Survivors include his sisters, Sharon Rife (John) of Murphy, Texas, Alice Brown of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Dorothy Eisenach of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Isabell Hill of Lingle, Wyoming; a brother Larry Brown of Torrington, Wyoming; and a sister-in-law Joan Brown of Socorro, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ed and Leroy Brown; sisters Betty Nickelson Trupp, Donna Cooper Michael, and Lois Caldwell.
