Dixianna "Dixie" Bremer

November 5, 1931 - March 7, 2022

Funeral services for DIXIANNA “DIXIE” BREMER, 90, will be held at 2pm Saturday, March 12, 2022 at North Hills Baptist Church with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Dixie passed from life on this earth to eternal life in Heaven on March 7, 2022 at the Torrington Community Hospital with family members by her side. Memorials may be given to North Hills Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 3pm to 5pm and the casket will be open at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Dixie was born November 5, 1931 at home to Ira Lee and Inez (Sims) Peterson in Lingle, Wyoming. She attended school in Torrington, Douglas and Lingle, Wyoming, graduating Lingle High School in 1950. She married Harry Dwight Bremer on December 12, 1950 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Dixie and Harry made their home in Lingle for fifty-seven years until Harry passed on August 8, 2007. To this home they welcomed three sons, Harvey Lee, Donald Dee and Jeffrey Alan. Dixie was a sports fan. She followed her own sons in the school activities, traveling the state of Wyoming and continuing many years supporting nieces, nephews, grandchildren and community children. She loved “Da Bears” of Chicago and knew the scores and stats of teams in many sports throughout her life. High school wrestling, rather a family sport, got her most fired up, actually Dixie was spunky in all facets of her life. Lingle and Fort Laramie students remember her from many years at the Lingle School Cafeteria. Her bread, cinnamon rolls, spoon bread and much more are a bit of a legend to those kids. Lunch time was a joy. Dixie and her ladies dispensed superb homemade food, but most importantly love, support and acceptance of every student. She always loved feeding folks. Every recipe contained her love. Dixie moved to Evergreen Court in Torrington in 2018 to continue her life, not to give it up. She called fellow residents her Evergreen family and continued with kind and loving support for others. Dixie’s life-long passion was for Jesus Christ. Being a Sunday School teacher, Awana worker, Bible camp supporter, Bible study student and very active congregational member loomed large in her life. ‘Prayer Warrior’ was her forte. Counseling in the faith benefitted people of all ages. Dixie was a faithful witness to her Lord in a dynamic way as she lived her life. Perhaps her greatest witness was in her passing. God granted her and her family many mercies in this process, and she was anxiously looking forward to her transition. She ministered to and comforted her last visitors until she could no longer. Grandchildren were so precious to her. She and Harry were very involved in their lives, loving and guiding them, and then when great grandchildren came!!!!! Grandchildren are Justin Bremer of Gillette, Holly (Clint) Rising of Pine Haven, Wyoming, Ira Lee (Sarah) Bremer of Rockford, Michigan, Melissa (Christopher) Haught of Spearfish, South Dakota and Doug (Abby) Bremer of Lingle, Wyoming. Great grandchildren are Kaylee, Gretchen, Wyatt, Morgan, Colton, jessie, Aspen, Madison, Aiden, Austin, Remington and Louden all surviving their Granny. One great grandson Joe Marvin was her delight as well. Survivors also include multiple friends; sons Harvey Lee (Deborah) of Cody, Wyoming, Donald Dee (Karen) of Torrington and Jeffrey Alan of Cody; sister Carolyn (Gary) Haeffelin of Torrington; sisters-in-law Lenore Bremer, Miriam Bremer and Carol Peterson along with nineteen nieces and nephews. Preceding Dixie were her parents; very precious husband, Harry; two infant siblings; one sister Donna Wunder; a brother Kenneth Peterson; and one niece.
