Dorothy Howe Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services for DOROTHY IRENE HOWE, 88, will be held at 2pm Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Dorothy died February 14, 2012 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm and briefly following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friend may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Dorothy was born February 15, 1923 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Kelly) Stowell. She grew up and attended school in Morrill, Nebraska where she graduated high school. She married Clair Earl Howe on May 27, 1941 in Gering, Nebraska. They lived on Sheep Creek until 1943 when they moved to a farm near Veteran, Wyoming for a short before moving to Torrington, Wyoming in 1955. She started working for Hartung’s in 1964 and worked there until she retired in 1997. She entered the Mitchell Care Center in 2004. Dorothy loved to read, gamble, garden, and play bingo. She was a member of the 1st Church of Christ, the Moose, and the Elks. Dorothy is survived by four sons, Charles "CJ" Howe, Larry (Sharon) Howe, and Keith Howe and his companion Sandy all of Torrington, Wyoming, and Chet (Donna) Howe of Yoder, Wyoming; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; he husband Clair; a child at birth; a grandson Brian; four sisters; and one brother.
