George H. Marlatt Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

An informal service for GEORGE H. MARLATT, 90, will be held at 4pm Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Yoder Community Building. A private family burial will take place prior to the service at Valley View Cemetery. George died January 29, 2022 at Goshen Healthcare Community and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Yoder Women’s Club. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. George was born October 3, 1931 in Hawk Springs, Wyoming the son of Glen and Helen (Smith) Marlatt. They moved to Yoder, Wyoming in 1934 and George attended school there graduating Yoder High School in 1949. He entered the US Army in 1951 and was discharged in 1955. He married Carol Prewitt February 5, 1956 in Wheatland, Wyoming. They lived in the Yoder area all their lives. George farmed and later operated heavy equipment. Carol died on May 17, 2009. George was involved in and served on the Soil Conservation Board for several years. George is survived by his son Tony Marlatt of Yoder, Wyoming; a daughter-in-law Nancy Marlatt of Yoder; two sisters Shirley Russell of Casper, Wyoming and his twin Marian Sittner of Veteran, Wyoming; a brother Dr. Gordon Marlatt of Laramie, Wyoming; grandchildren Karling (Jonathan) Cosca of Las Vegas, Nevada, Katrina (James) Bowers of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Kamille (Jamie) Newman of Loveland, Colorado, Kyra Marlatt of Cheyenne, Cassie Cross of Yoder, Jess (Gage) Milner of Torrington, Wyoming, Nick Taggart of Cheyenne and Amber and Emily Trout of Lincoln, Nebraska; and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carol Marlatt; his son Geff Marlatt, his daughter Luci Marlatt; an infant brother Bobby Burton Marlatt; and two sisters Lois Sittner and Margaret Fleenor.
