Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Helen passed away Saturday March 24, 2018 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska after a brief illness. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Helen was born August 13, 1922 to Henry and Anna Marie (Eckhardt) Bauer. She was the seventh of nine children. She attended the Lake Alice and Roosevelt Schools in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. After completing the eighth grade Helen went to work at a cannery to help support the family. She worked there for about one year until she found a better job as a live in housekeeper. She was a housekeeper for Doctor Wyrens, his wife and four sons. She was allowed to go home on weekends and was fifteen at the time. When her parents moved to Torrington two years later, Helen was fortunate to find work again as a live-in housekeeper for Sheriff DeWitt and his wife. She said they were wonderful to her. On December 31, 1940 she married Harold Nab and began a life of farming. Helen was a member of the Cherry Creek Homemakers Club for years and a 4-H leader and state fair chaperone for ten years with the Cherry Creek 4-H Club. She was a member of the Torrington Presbyterian Church for over sixty-four years. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Ladies Circle for decades until her health forced her to sideline herself. At the age of fifty-five after a lifetime of farming, Helen launched a custom drapery business, H&B Drapery Boutique. She ran the boutique with her daughter-in-law Beverly until she was seventy-eight years old and retired to care for her husband Harold. Helen is survived by her children, Ronald (Loretta) Nab of Torrington, Wyoming, Timothy (Beverly) Nab of Yutan, Nebraska, and Rebecca (David) Young of Torrington; grandchildren Kevin Nab of Torrington, Wendy (Greg) Posten of Torrington, Denise (Randy) Hill of Torrington, Leon (Shelley) Nab of West Haven, Utah, Rhonda (Kevin ) Royer of Gretna, Nebraska, Nikki (Calvin) Alford of Tempe, Arizona and Ryan Innes (Delphine) of Pinon, Arizona; great grandchildren, Brett Posten of Torrington; Emilee Nab of West Haven, Utah, Tiffani (Lori) Thompson of Lakenheath AB, England, Wyatt and Cheyenne Royer of Gretna, Owen Alford of Tempe, Anthony Dominguez of Torrington, Shali (Jordan) Courtney of Torrington, Nathaniel Dominguez of Torrington, and Heath and Christopher Hill of Torrington; great-great grandchildren Jackson Hill of Torrington, Corbin Hill of Torrington, Dalton Thompson of Lakenheath AB, England, Lincoln Courtney of Torrington; and sister Doris Ketchum of Seattle, Washington.
