Henry was born August 22, 1939 in Yoder, Wyoming, one of 10 children born to Edubigues and Ana Maria (Nicasio) Prado. He was a member of the Wyoming Army National Guard for 40 years, most of which he worked as a mechanic at Camp Guernsey and in Torrington. After working all day for the Guard, he would work a second job at the Sugar Factory during the beet campaigns. After retiring from the National Guard he traveled some with Simona and relaxed for a couple of years, but was ready to get back to work and landed at Eastern Wyoming College. In the nine years of working at EWC, he took a year off of work to receive a kidney transplant then went back to work at EWC up until 3 weeks before his passing. His incredible work ethic did not go unnoticed and is carried on by his Family. Henry was involved in the Knights of Columbus, was Past Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree, Charter Member of the Council, and Past District Deputy. He held most offices of the Council at one time or another and was involved in most K of C programs. The Prado Spanish Program, started by Henry’s brothers and sisters, ran for 50 years on KGOS radio and served the Hispanic Community with celebratory announcements and Spanish music to listen and dance to. Henry ran the program on Sunday afternoons until the program ended in 1995. He loved to sing and was involved in school choir and plays. His love of the arts showed through as he supported all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in singing, dancing, and all activities each one was involved in. His love of sports led him to coach little league baseball for many years, travel with his children to all of their games no matter how far and was also a radio announcer for local baseball games, Many people often thanked him and continue to thank him for all of the advice he gave, for just being a good listener and for helping anyone in need whenever he was able. The most important thing to Henry was his family and he loved celebrating with family and friends for any occasion. His biggest wish was that his family stick together no matter what. Loyalty, love, and his sense of humor will be carried on in his memory. Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Simona, a son, Gilbert, his parents, siblings, and many relatives. He is survived by his son, Tim Prado (Phoenix, AZ), Daughters Tamie Barajas (Kennewick, WA), Jacque Johannsen (Fort Collins, CO), and Tonya Willadson (Casper, WY), as well as 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
