Joan Shannon Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services for JOAN SHANNON, 81, will be held at 10am Friday, June 17, 2022 at Lighthouse Ministries with Pastor Rick Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Joan died June 10, 2022 at Torrington Community Hospital. Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Ministries. Visitation will be Thursday from 3pm to 5pm at the funeral home and the casket will be open at the church. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Joan was born December 7, 1940 in Parma, Idaho the daughter of Ed and Elvera Lange. She grew up in Morrill, Nebraska and graduated high school there. She married Russell Shannon on October 4, 1958. They moved to the farm west of Hawk Springs, Wyoming. She enjoyed farm life, gardening and her family. She worked at the Yoder Post Office for twenty-nine years. She retired and they moved to Torrington, Wyoming in 2002. Joan was a member of Lighthouse Ministries where she loved singing and church activities. Joan is survived by her husband Russell Shannon; daughters Sherri (John) Herbst and Brenda (Jeff) Johnson; son Kent Shannon; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers Jim Lange and Rodger Lange; and sister-in-law Judy Lange. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Charles; sisters Doris King and Bonnie Reeve; and granddaughter Elizabeth.
