Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for MARGARET CRUZ MUNOZ VALENCIA, 88, on May 29, 2015 at 10am at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. A Rosary service will be held at 6pm on Thursday, May 28 at the church. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday at the Colyer Funeral Home from 3pm to 5pm. Margaret died on May 25, 2015 at her home in Torrington. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends are invited to send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Margaret was born on May 3, 1927 in San Bernardino, California the daughter of Doroteo and Bernice (Mendez) Campos. She moved to Torrington, Wyoming at the age of 6 and lived at St. Joseph Children's Home where she was later adopted. She married Don Munoz and they had four children. Margaret worked at Community Hospital for 16 years as a nurse's aide and retired from there in 1976. She later married John Valencia in Torrington on July 3, 1974. In later life, they couple wintered in Phoenix, Arizona. Margaret was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church where she was involved in the Guadalupe Society, the Sacred Heart Circle, and CCW. She served on the South Torrington Water Board and was a volunteer for Domestic Violence. Margaret enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening. Margaret is survived by a daughter, Rita (Manuel) Montano of Westminster, CO; three sons, Roland Munoz of Commerce City, CO; Michael Munoz of Denver, CO; and Mark Munoz of Torrington, WY; brothers, Rudy Campos of Colorado Springs, CO; Frank Correa, Albert Chavez, and Greg Chavez all of Minneapolis, MN; Enacho Chavez and Frank Chavez of Albert Lee, MN; sisters, Patsy Fuentez, Linda Chavez, and Susie Garsa of Albert Lee, MN; Delphina Chavez of Minneapolis, MN; Kathy Chavez of St. Paul, MN; and Lupe Sacedo of Durbin, Texas; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Don Munoz and John Valencia; three brothers, John and Fred Munoz and Jesse Campos; and two sisters, Mary and Rosie Chavez.
