Marilyn Jean Clemens

August 18, 1952 - July 28, 2014

MARILYN JEAN CLEMENS, 61, passed away unexpectedly from complications of juvenile diabetes on July 28, 2014 at Highlands Ranch in Colorado. A grave side celebration of life will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 3pm. A reception will follow at the Holiday Inn Express in Torrington. The Colyer Funeral Home handled the cremation arrangements and is directing the memorial services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. Friends and family may leave condolences at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Marilyn was born on August 18, 1952 in Torrington, Wyoming the daughter of John H. and F. Gretchen (Scheerer) Clemens. She grew up and received her education; graduating Converse County High School in 1970. Following graduation, Marilyn attended the University of Wyoming where she graduated in 1975 with a degree in Home Economics. She then worked for Basin Electric in Wheatland, Wyoming; Banner Associates in Laramie, Wyoming; and for CH2M Hill in Denver, Colorado as a sales manager. Marilyn took a break from the work force for a few years to become a card dealer in the Black Hawk Casinos. She loved to play cards. Her family, friends and co-workers will always remember her zest for life and her generosity to others. Marilyn was especially devoted to her niece, nephews, and great-nephews. She is survived by her sister, Joyce (Richard) Larsen; brother, Stephen (Kathleen) Clemens; her niece Emily (Les) Reinier; nephews, Gregory (Olga) Fogelberg, Noah (DeAnne) Larsen, Daniel Pando, and Anthony Pando; and great-nephews, Dylan and Ryan Reinier and Parker Larsen. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
