Marvin L. Terrell, 93, died Friday at Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyoming. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, August 8, at the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington with Pastor Scott Firminhac officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made, in Marvin’s name, to the Wyoming Trucking Association Scholarship Trust Fund at P.O. Box 1175, Casper, Wyoming 82602. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send their condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com . Marvin was born July 9, 1921, in Trenton, Nebraska. When he was six years old, he moved to the Torrington area with his family. He attended the Katzer School near Huntley and after completing his schooling in Torrington, Marvin worked on various farms in the Torrington/Yoder/Veteran area. He enlisted in the Army in 1942. While in the Army, he met Luella Hulda Benker. The couple was married February 10, 1944. They lived in Albuquerque, NM while Marvin was stationed there part of his military career. Marvin was discharged from the Army in 1946. The couple moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska and then to Torrington in 1947. He farmed and worked as an electrician’s assistant until he started his own trucking company, which later became MLT Trucking, in 1948. Marvin trucked until he was 90 years old! Marvin enjoyed new equipment and learning technology. He also enjoyed tinkering in his shop, building things to improve and make work easier. Marvin enjoyed yardwork. He also enjoyed family gatherings, as family was very important to him. Marvin’s favorite hobby of all was trucking. He was a member of the Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion. He received the Pioneer Award from the Wyoming Trucking Association in 2010. Marvin was known for his honesty and integrity. Survivors include daughter Sharon Walson of Torrington, Wyoming; son Wesley (Lorraine) Terrell of Gillette, Wyoming; son Warren Terrell of Torrington, Wyoming; sister Bernice Riley of Casper, Wyoming; sister Cloa (Ken) DeVoge of St. George, Utah; sister in law Esther Terrell of Torrington; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Luella; brothers Dale, Glen, Elvin, Hubert and Raymond Terrell; sisters Leona Nealeigh, Vera Woodbury, Uva Clapp, Jessie White and Inez Cheeney.
