February 24, 1939 - July 7, 2013

MAYRENE ESTELLE CHAMBERLAIN Guernsey, Wyoming – Mayrene Estelle Chamberlain, 74, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Regional West Hospital in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the Guernsey United Presbyterian Church with Reverend Beth Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie Rest Cemetery, in Guernsey. The casket will be open for viewing prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Thrift Store in Guernsey. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send their condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com . Mayrene was born February 24, 1939 at the family home in Scotts Bluff County the daughter of Elmer and Estella (Slagle) Lowry. She attended a little country school, Wheatland Grade School, located south of Stegall. She graduated high school from Lyman High School in Lyman, Nebraska. Mayrene married Jerry Chamberlain on August 4, 1957 south of Stegall at Kiowa Community Church. To this union four children were born; Tim, Dave, Kim and Tina. After the couple was married they resided in LaGrange, Wyoming. They have lived in Guernsey, Wyoming for the past 15 years. In her lifetime she was a para-educator for a disabled child, a book keeper for Bullock and Chamberlain Trucking, worked at a potato warehouse in LaGrange, taught Art out of her house in LaGrange, and worked for Larry Cavanoke, CPA. Mayrene was a very caring person who babysat for other families as well as taking care of her own. She loved children, especially all of her beautiful grandchildren and great grandchild. Mayrene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also loved her birds, flowers, gardening and her river walks. Mayrene was a member and a Deacon of the United Presbyterian Church in Guernsey. She also helped with the youth activities, helped with the thrift store and Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Women, American Legion Auxiliary and Secretary for the 2-Shot Goose Hunt for 2 years. Survivors include her husband Jerry of Guernsey; her son Tim (Linda) Chamberlain of Guernsey; her son David (Dena) Chamberlain of Guernsey; her daughter Kim (Tim) Adkins of Holdrege, NE; her daughter Tina (David) Ramsey of Wheatridge, CO; nine grandchildren, Paige Chamberlain, Tonya Anderson, Amanda Brown, Larissa Chamberlain, Tracy Chamberlain, Jamie Provance, Rebecca Adkins, Hailey Adkins, Corey Ramsey; and her great granddaughter Roslynn Provance. Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister Pearl; her niece Debbie; three nephews, Forrest, Chancey and Tom; her brother-in-law Maynard; and her sister-in-law Denise.
