Ronald 'Ron' Lampman

September 28, 1957 - January 30, 2017

Memorial services for RONALD “RON” CHARLES LAMPMAN, 59, will be held at 10am Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Marie Fitz officiating. Ron died January 30, 2017 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and at his request cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Ron was born September 28, 1957 in Torrington, Wyoming the son of Charles and Darlene (Murphy) Lampman. He grew up and lived in the Torrington area most of his life. He was active in baseball (Little League and Babe Ruth) when growing up. Ron went to Job Corp in Anaconda, Montana and became a heavy equipment operator and chef. He moved to Kansas and became a deputy sheriff. He then moved back to Torrington where he went to work for Concrete Construction as a bulk truck driver. Ron moved to Gillette, Wyoming and went to work for Bell and Mooney, hauling fuel and Kisik water and oil. He moved back to Torrington in 1989 and went back to work for Concrete Construction driving bulk truck and batch truck. Ron was an experienced truck driver, over the road and local, driving for forty-four years. He could drive anything and taught his son and many others how to drive the big rigs. On October 22, 1994 he married Mary Warner and they moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming and he continued working for Concrete Construction. The couple lived in Rock Springs for seven years until Ron was transferred back to Torrington where he continued to work for Concrete Construction until his kidney problems in 2006. In 2011 he started driving school bus for Goshen County School District for something to do. He retired in 2015 full time to enjoy time with family. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, playing with grandkids and John Wayne movies. He had a hobby of vehicle body repair and making clocks of all kinds for friends and family. Ron also enjoyed camping and just being around family. Ron is survived by his wife Mary Lampman of Torrington, Wyoming; a son Ronald C. Lampman Jr of Casper, Wyoming; daughters Heidi Lampman (Bob) of Casper, Annie Nading of Lovell, Wyoming, Amanda (Jason) Werner of Torrington, Jenifer (Ben) Chilson of Torrington and Eron Lampman of Casper; two brothers Tracy (Norma) Lampman and Phillip Lampman both of Torrington; a sister Denise (Bill) Neu of Torrington; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; one infant nephew; and a great nephew.
