Sharon Kay Howe

November 4, 1948 - May 19, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Kay Howe (Stricker), age 68. She passed away on Friday, May 19th, 2017 after a brave battle with ALS. At her request there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date. She was born on November 4th 1948 in Torrington, Wyoming to Fred and Frances (Fleck) Stricker. She graduated from Torrington High School in 1967, where she met her husband Larry. They were married on May 18th, 1968. Sharon was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was the owner of the Cabbage Patch Cuisine for over a decade and was known for her delicious Cabbage burgers. She continued her passion for cooking even after her restaurant closed, first as head cook at Trail Elementary and later as Kitchen Supervisor at St. Joseph's Children's Home. Sharon was loved by so many family and friends. Her laid back personality, sense of humor, and kindness were just a few of the qualities that made her so likable. Some of her happiest moments were spent with family, especially her two grandsons who always brought a smile to her face. She was also an avid animal lover, having had many pets throughout her life. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband Larry and her children, Felicia Alford (Craig) of Ankeny, IA, Jennifer Howe-Chece (Dino) of Des Plaines, IL, and Cody Howe of Great Falls, MT; her grandchildren, Jake and Zach Alford; her sister Sally Fogle of Torrington, brother Tom Stricker of Denver, and brother Mike Stricker (Karen) of Torrington, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Frances Stricker, and her Mother and Father in law, Clair and Dorothy Howe. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association (alsa.org). We would also like to give a special thanks to the volunteers and staff at Prairie Haven Hospice.
