Shirley Jean Harris

Memorial services for SHIRLEY JEAN HARRIS, 74, will be held at 10am Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Shirley died March 3, 2015 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the Moose Endowment Fund in c/o the local lodge. Shirley was born August 27, 1940 in Wheatland, Wyoming the daughter of Alexander and Lorraine (Martin) Lauck. She moved with her family to Torrington, Wyoming at the age of five and attended school there. She graduated Torrington High School in 1959. She married Rodney Harris on March 17, 1968 in Torrington. Shirley worked as a chairside dental assistant for James Griggs for twelve years and then at Couplamatic in Lyman, Nebraska as a secondary machine operator for twelve years. At that point she went to work in the family business Harris Manufacturing Company again working as a secondary machine operator until 2004 when they sold the business. Shirley was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks, Cottonwood Country Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a past member of the Congregational Church. She enjoyed golf, reading, camping, fishing and boating. Shirley is survived by her husband Rod of Torrington, Wyoming; two daughters Lana Lou (Steve) Snyder of Concord, California and Elizabeth Harris of Ft. Collins, Colorado; four sons Rodney (Sharon) Harris Jr of Loveland, Colorado, Jerry Harris of Ft. Worth, Texas, John Harris of Cedaredge, Colorado and Richard (Kimberly) Harris of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four sisters Mary Anne Herman and Carol York of Torrington, Patricia Lauck of Raton, New Mexico and Barbara Lauck of Wheatland, Wyoming; a brother Alex (Kathy) Lauck Jr of Torrington; ten grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; and twenty-eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Elmer Dale Lauck; and a grandson Jeremiah Harris.
