Teresa Romo

January 8, 1919 - August 26, 2015

Memorial services for Teresa M. Romo, 96, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father Andrew Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Teresa passed away peacefully on Aug. 26, 2015 at Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family and cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited on Monday at 6 p.m. at the Colyer Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Goshen Care Center. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Teresa married her husband Santos A. Romo, Sr. in Texas. They worked the fields to support their family. Eventually they settled in Torrington and raised their children. Education was always important to her. She was proud of all her children’s accomplishments. She raised two sons and four daughters. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed garage sales, all her grandchildren and her many friends who visited and had coffee time with her. Teresa is survived by her children, Lesbia (James) LiPare of Las Vegas, Nevada, Juanita Marshall of Omaha, Rolando Romo of Torrington, Rosa (Greg) Martinez of Scottsbluff, Abel (Janie) Romo of Morrill, and Hilda (Lorenzo) Taronga of Greeley, Colorado; eighteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Santos; a sister; a daughter-in-law Dahlia Romo; a son-in-law Richard Cisney; and a special granddaughter Corrine Romero. She will be missed immensely by all her family and friends.
