Allan Lee Rising

A celebration of life for Allan Lee Rising, 58, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church with Reverend Vickie Kintzel officiating. Allan died May 22, 2016 at Community Hospital in Torrington and cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Allan was born June 7, 1957 in Crawford to Eldon and Donna (Holtz) Rising. He was raised in Harrison, where he received his education. He was active in 4-H, FFA, wrestling and rodeo. He attended Eastern Wyoming College where he received his vet tech degree. He married his wife of 33 years Brenda (Schreiner) Rising on April 30, 1983, they have two children, Cole and Danielle. Allan has worked in many different fields throughout his life. He has worked in the oil fields, Goshen Vet Clinic, Schreiner Farms, Wyoming Ethanol, RBS, and most recently as a lab analyst with Chem Treat. Allan’s friends affectionately called him “Marvin”. He was a stranger to no one. Whether he knew you for years or just happened to meet you, he would strike up a conversation. He had a true gift of gab, which made it impossible for anyone to not like him. He opened his home to anyone and everyone. He made it his personal business to make you feel comfortable, and always full of food before you left. Allan’s passion in life was his family; his wife Brenda, son Cole and wife Lauren, daughter Danielle and husband Matt, grandsons Radlee and James, granddaughters Olivia, Lillian and Marah. He was so proud of his children and loved being a grandpa. More than anything he loved spending time with his family and friends on his boat, fishing and camping. He was an avid Husker fan, and every Saturday you could probably find him watching and cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Allan was also active in Torrington’s baseball program for several years. Allan is survived by his wife Brenda of Torrington; son and daughter-in-law Cole and Lauren Rising of Craig, Colorado; daughter and son-in-law Danielle and Matt Franks of Plentywood, Montana; granddaughters Olivia Rising, Lillian Rising and Marah Franks; grandsons James Franks and Radlee Rising; mother-in-law Ruth Schreiner; sisters Joyce “Jody” and Joe Krajewski of Grant, Nebraska, Cathy Publow of Scottsbluff and Pam Rising of Eleanor, Idaho; brother Randy and wife Kristie Rising of Torrington; Shelly and husband Doug Hedeen of St. Paul, Minnesota; sister-in-law Lynn Rising of Casper, Wyoming; brothers-in-law Alan Schreiner of Torrington and Mike and Katie Schreiner of Torrington; sisters-in-law Marilyn Riggs of Scottsbluff, Rhonda Kelly of Minatare, Becky and Mark Jolovich, and Diane and Dan Schwartzkopf all of Torrington; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Dolly Rising; a brother Kendy Joe Rising; and father-in-law Ruben Schreiner.
