Barbara Coffee

TORRINGTON, WYO.... Memorial services for BARBARA LEE COFFEE, 87, will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 2:00pm at the United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ora Dailey officiating. Mrs. Coffee died on February 18, 2006 at the Goshen Care Center and at her request, cremation has taken place. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions in her memory to the "Waggin Tails" Animal Shelter in Torrington. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends are invited to send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Barbara was born on May 17, 1918 in Calexico, California the daughter of Herman and Audrey (Myers) Zuckerman. She grew up and received her education; graduating from Calexico High School in 1935. She then attended secretarial school in Glendale, California and worked at Lockheed Aircraft. Barbara also worked for the "Kennel Review Dog Magazine" and a pet shop for two years. She met Bob Coffee in Palm Springs, California and the couple married on March 16, 1947 at Reno, Nevada. They then lived on Guam for a few months before returning to Palm Springs and Lake Tahoe until 1950 when they moved to Torrington, Wyoming and built their home. She entered the Goshen Care Center in 2003. Barbara was a member of the United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Grass Roots Gals Garden Club, and a member of the Torrington Homemakers Club. Barbara loved gardening, especially flowers, for which she won many awards. She also enjoyed boating, fishing, and traveling. Barbara saw many places in North America on her travels and several islands. She also enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. She is survived by her husband, Bob of Torrington; two daughters and their husbands, Bonnie and Bob Childs of Torrington, and Gayle and Bob Johnson of Lyman, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Cory (Kelli) Childs of Milliken, Colorado; Brian (Rachel Webb) Childs of Littleton, Colorado; Lisa (Kolbe) Spears of Berthoud, Colorado; Robin (David) Davis of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; and Mark (Karey) Johnson of Lyman, Nebraska; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Lauriel Cole and Louise Ramirez.
