David Jay Mullins, a beloved son, devoted father, and cherished friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2026, at the age of 43 in his home. A service to celebrate David's life will be held on his birthday, September 15. Born on September 15, 1982, in Torrington, Wyoming, David was a beacon of love and adventure, a man whose heart was as large as his zest for life. David was the beloved son of Eddie Mullins and Stephanie Martinez. He was predeceased by his grandparents, David and Catherine Manning, and his stepmother, Agapita Mullins. He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his fiancé of five incredible years, Elizabeth Stephens, with whom he shared a bond filled with unconditional love and adventure. His children, Sierra, Sativa, David, Mathais, Devlin, and Deegan Mullins, along with his stepchildren Brooklyn McCoy, Jayda Stephens, and Jillian Butcher, were the center of his world. He is also survived by his siblings: sisters Jennifer Pearce, Rachel, Jessica, and Anastasia Mullins, and brother Caleb Martinez. A multitude of grandchildren, and nieces, will continue to carry his spirit with them. David attended Torrington High School and went on to dedicate 22 years of hard work to the butchering industry. His career spanned several respected establishments, including Roy’s Cold Storage, Kelly Pack, Wyoming Ranch Foods, and Lakeview Processing in Lakeview, Oregon. He was passionate about his craft and took great joy in teaching others the art of butchering. A man of many talents, David enjoyed a wide array of hobbies. From riding dirt bikes and painting cars and buildings to playing with electricity and cutting trees, he was always learning and sharing his knowledge. In recent years, he was teaching himself to weld. David found great joy in rock hounding and mining for gold. His love for music was legendary, with his bass beats echoing from miles away, a testament to his vibrant personality. David was known for his extraordinary love of life, family, and friends. His willingness to drop everything to help someone in need was a hallmark of his character. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. David’s spirit will live on in the memories of those who loved him, and his legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
