TORRINGTON, WYOMING...........Funeral services for DOROTHY GREENWALD, 94, will be held at 1pm Friday, June 9, 2017 at the First Congregational Church with Reverend Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle, Wyoming. Dorothy died June 3, 2017 at Goshen Healthcare Community. Memorials may be made to Goshen County 4-H Foundation or the First Congregational Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home and briefly prior to the service at the church. Dorothy Pearl Greenwald was born January 2, 1923 in Harmony, Colorado the daughter of David and Katherine (Bostron) Ernst. The family moved to Torrington, Wyoming early in her life and she attended school in Torrington, quitting in her senior year to work on the farm. She earned her GED when she was forty years old. She married Willie Greenwald on November 12, 1943 at Barksdale Field, Bossier City, Louisiana near Shreveport on the army base where Willie was stationed. They celebrated sixty-four years together. After Willie’s discharge from the army they moved to Lingle, Wyoming and bought a farm east of town where they farmed for forty years and retired in 1983 and moved to Torrington. Dorothy was a life long member of the First Congregational Church in Torrington where she taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She asked Jesus Christ to be her Savior which allowed her to go to heaven and live in the place He had prepared for her. At the age of seventy-seven she was baptized in believer’s baptism in full emergence at the Oliver pond west of Lingle professing her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior along with her grandchildren Jillene Nedens and Gene Brown. She was a thirty plus year 4-H leader, was a member of WIFE organization and the Lingle American Legion Auxiliary. She had a passion to sew and for the color yellow. She liked to attend her children’s school events. Dorothy is survived by daughters and their husbands Margaret and Rick Brown of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Willene and Richard Nedens of Lingle, Wyoming and Betty and Jack Lenhart of Casper, Wyoming; grandchildren and their spouses Katherine and Samual Schaffer, and Charlotte Sherman all of Colorado Springs, Aaron Brown of Montana, Melissa Farnsworth of Castle Rock, Colorado, Jennifer and Will Mason of Casper, Justin and Kristin Lenhart of Fredrick, Colorado, and Jillene and Michael Honold of Coon Rapids, Iowa; great grandchildren Morgann and Miles Schaffer, Colton Sherman, Taylor and Win Farnsworth, Brooklyn and Jonah Mason, Leah Jane Hill and Collette Lenhart; and a brother Floyd (Margaret) Ernst of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Preceding her in death was her husband Willie Greenwald; grandsons Joel Nedens and Gene Brown; her parents; sisters Rachel Geisick, Esther Owens Bollinger, Lillian Teeters, Elnora LeDonne, Florence Vosseler and Helen Kumelos; and brothers David Jr, Harry and Roy Ernst.
