EMMA JANE RUSH TORRINGTON, Wyoming – Emma Jane Rush, 75, went to meet the Lord Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 23, at the Riverside Church of Christ in Torrington with Pastor Gary Flom, Richard Merrill and L.D. Alderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Memorials may be made to Riverside Church of Christ in Torrington, Church of Christ in Morrill or Prairie Haven Hospice. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Emma was born March 26, 1938, 9 miles north of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, at Ditch Camp, in her Uncle August’s home. She was born the daughter of Leo and Lucile (Stone) Holeman. Emma attended Elementary school in Torrington. The family then moved to Gering were she completed her schooling and graduated from Gering High School. After high school she attended Midwestern Evangelical School of the Bible where she received her master’s in Education/Science. She later taught in a variety of locations, including New York, Vermont, Highland, NE and Mitchell Valley. She later married Bill Rush June 12, 1981 in Torrington. Her hobbies included taking care of children. Over the years, the couple has taken care of over 60 foster children. She also enjoyed reading and had a fascination with the Far East countries. Survivors include her husband Bill Rush of Torrington; twin sister Norma (Gary) Werner of Lincoln, NE; sister Elsie Markley of Greeley, CO; sister Donna (Bill) Markley of Eaton, CO; daughter Christy Rush (Allen) Ludwig of Cheyenne, WY; step son Tod (Leann) Rush of Amarillo, TX; step son Stan (Jackie) Rush of Huntley, WY; step grandchildren, Jessie Rush, Adam Rush, Lacy Gonzalez, and Sara Reichert; step great grandchildren, Devlin and Tavyn Henderickson, Ryder Hackbarth, Hadley Pogue, Case Gonzalez, Tatum Reichert, Cami, Patty and Michael Robert Rush, and Kayla Plummer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, Preceding her in death were her parents; brother Larry Holeman; uncles and aunts, Donald Holeman, Bertha and Clinton Stone, August and Ruth Stone, Floyd and Ura Rector; nephews David Werner and Rodney Markley.
