Funeral services for FLORENCE EDITH (WOLSKI) WESTPHAL, 83, will be held at 9:00a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Steven Seng officiating. Burial will follow at 2pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 3698 South Sheridan Blvd in Denver, Colorado. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Florence passed away at the Goshen Care Center Alzheimer’s Unit on April 19, 2012 while being read Holy Scripture. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimers Unit c/o of the Goshen Care Center at 2009 Laramie, Torrington, WY 82240. Florence was born on May 18, 1928 in Hall County of central Nebraska the daughter of Franz and Minnie (Schweiger) Wolski. At an early age, she moved with her family to a farmstead north of Morrill, Nebraska where she attended school; graduating from Morrill High School. Florence went on to attend the University of Wyoming at Laramie before moving to the Denver, Colorado area. She resided in Colorado for over 50 years where she worked as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1964. Florence married retired Major Robert E. Westphal, USAF, in Denver, Colorado in 1964. The couple enjoyed traveling together and visiting different places around the world. After her husband passed away in 1989, Florence remained in Denver and became active with volunteer work. In 2007 Florence moved to the Goshen Care Center in Torrington, Wyoming. Florence will always be remembered as a very conservative, independent, and caring person with an out going personality. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed life to its fullest. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her brother Arnold Wolski and a sister-in-law, Gladys Wolski, both of Torrington; one nephew, Francis (Wally) Wolski and his wife Teresa; four nieces, Jean Fritzler and her husband Steve; Janet Haas and her husband Glen; Lori Libsack and her husband Jerry; and Deborah Bozzuto. She is also survived by two great nephews, Scott and Nick; four great nieces, Erin, Amie, Ashley, and Ali; and three great-great nieces, Brooke, Breann, and Bridget. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Franz and Minnie; her step-mother Ena Lippincott; two brothers, Arthur and Edward Wolski; two sisters-in-law, Paulina and Esther Wolski; and a nephew-in-law, Rick Bozzuto.
