TORRINGTON , WY...... Funeral services for JAMES A. MONTGOMERY, 75, will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 16, 2007 at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church with Reverend David Lee officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Jim died on November 13, 2007 at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Visitation hours will be held at the Colyer Funeral Home on Thursday from 1pm to 7pm; Friday from 9am to noon; and the casket will be closed at the church service. In lieu of flowers, the family would request that memorial contributions be directed to the family c/o the Colyer Funeral Home, PO Box 20, Torrington. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends are invited to send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Jim was born on July 14, 1932 in Torrington, Wyoming the son of Harvey and Marie (Thomas) Montgomery. He grew up and attended school at Torrington. He entered the US Army National Guard at Guernsey and then entered active duty in Korea. Jim served in the Motorpool and the Corps of Engineers. Jim returned to Torrington and married Glenda Stull in May of 1956. They were later divorced. Jim worked as a mechanic for Red Christie at the Skelly Station, and later he went on to work for Krug Auto Body for 18 years and then for Buck's Tire Service for a time and then worked for Olson Tire until he semi-retired; when he opened a shop at his home. Jim enjoyed stock car racing and motor cycle racing. He liked to hunt, fish and camp with his family and he found great pleasure in taking his family to the state and national parks. Jim enjoyed boating and he was actively water skiing at the age of 71. He enjoyed family reunions and helping others when he could. Jim was a past member of the VFW and also of the Moose. He is survived by his three sons, Kenneth Blevins and his wife Nancy ; Harvey Montgomery and his wife Denise; and Reuben Montgomery all of Torrington; two daughters, Deborah McPhee of Torrington; and Tonya Stauffer and her husband Bob of Littleton, Colorado; two sisters, Glenda Mullin of Simila, Colorado, and Evelyn Pomeroy of Craig, Colorado; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Ruby Montgomery; two sons, David Joe Montgomery, and Corey Don Montgomery; one granddaughter, Susan Blevins; a brother Norman Montgomery; three sisters, Florence Brauning, Alene Eckhardt, and Helen Brothwell; a step-brother, Jack Aitken; and two step-sisters, Georgia Aitken and Roberta Aitken.
