Jerry Lee Heil

Jerry Lee Heil, 81, born October 26, 1943, in Lingle, Wyoming, went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2025, after suffering a stroke in January. Jerry is survived by his two sons; Herb Lee and James Dean Johnston; two grandsons, Jerry and Tristan; three great-grandchildren, Abraham, Wynter and Caitriona; brothers Wilbert (Karen), Dick (Linda), Rich and Dennis; sisters Connie Oliver, Beth Murray, Joyce Myers. Several cousins, numerous nieces and nephews as well and many great-nieces and nephews who adored him. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Jack, and George Heil; granddaughter Cheryl Johnston; first wife Linda Johnston and second wife Barbara (Bobbie) Elaine Deppler Heil; great-nephew Jacob Mogle and his parents George and Mollie Heil. Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was very active in his church, East Gate Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and doing His work in sharing the gospel with others. He was always ready to lend a hand whenever needed, whether it be mowing yards, building fences, giving someone a ride or just being there with a positive word or prayer for comfort and guidance. After high school, Jerry worked as a farm hand in Veteran/Yoder area before leaving for Tennessee to attend Bible College. He then spent the next 20 plus years as a semi-truck driver in the Denver area. After semi-retiring in 2015, he moved back to Wyoming to be closer to family, where he began doing what he does best, helping others. His passing has left a void in the heats of family, friends and many others whose lives were touched by him. It was a pleasure witnessing his unwavering faith in God and his comforting to know that we will meet again one day in Heaven. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held 11am May 23, 2025, at East Gate Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Sparks officiating. A reception will follow the services. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests any donations be given to the sons to help with expenses.
