Judy Stellpflug

Memorial services for JUDITH “JUDY” PAULINE STELLPFLUG, 74, will be held at 1pm Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Henry United Methodist Church with Pastor George Kilmer officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Judy passed away January 14, 2017 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff after a hard fought cancer battle. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the Torrington Senior Center. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com Judy was born in Melon, Nebraska on March 6, 1942 to Mae (Krull) and Claude Holmes. She graduated from Cosmetology School in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and started her teaching career in Cheyenne, Wyoming soon thereafter. She transferred to Huntley, Wyoming in 1976. When the school closed she continued her career as an instructor in the Cosmetology Department at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming. She retired from EWC in 2008. In 2009 she was appointed by Governor Matthew Mead to serve on the State Board of Cosmetology which she proudly served until 2013. Judy was a member of the Torrington TOPS organization. She served as the local president for two years and had been secretary for the last four years. Her biggest achievement was reaching KOPS status and being a past Queen. Her TOPS gals were like an extended part of her family whom she loved very much. Judy could always be seen with the love of her life, Frank, whom she married in 1961. They enjoyed traveling by air, car and their favorite-cruises. They could even be found at the family cabin where Judy used to hunt right along side Frank. When at home, however, family was always there- from birthdays to every holiday. Family always gathered at “Grandma and Grandpa’s”. Family was her number one priority! Judy was married to Frank and to this union they had the following children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frank Stellpflug III (Stes), Vickie Richards (Randy), Rebecca Mae (predeceased Judy) Chelsea Buckhaults, Matthew Richards, Frank IV (Bo) Stellpflug, Austin Richards, Courtney Buckhaults and Chasity Buckhaults.
